Beamsville and other Lincoln residents can now get on the GO Bus for a smoother commute into the GTA. The GO Bus makes a stop in Beamsville at the QEW and Ontario Street and continues on to the Burlington Go Station where passengers can hop on and continue into Downtown Toronto, or as far as Oshawa.
The new GO Train service will be coming from Hamilton to Grimsby by 2021 and to Niagara Falls by 2023. Upgrades will also take place to the VIA Rail stations in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. The province says the expansion could be finished even earlier.
With the addition of this new extension, Beamsville residents will be connected to more than 3,000 kilometres of GO Train and bus routes that stretch across Ontario. Providing commuters in the Niagara Region with another option to get into the city, ultimately decreasing the amount congestion on the major highways and helping approximately 50,000 people who commute from Niagara get to Hamilton and the greater Golden Horseshoe.
Whether you’re trying to travel into the city for a night on the town, or make a short visit into Niagara Falls, the GO Train extension will be useful to local residents and out of town visitors looking to explore what the Niagara Region has to offer.
